Soft Serve - First sight love
The first foodie review! Wohoo!! (a great round applause please haha)
Soft Serve is one of my favourite dairy product, and it is a first taste love. It happened in Seoul when I got to try Milkcow's signature honey comb soft serve(btw they use organic milk which makes it being more appreciated). The rich milky flavour and creamy texture Since then I fell in love with it. When I was in NYC during the summer, I did not have a chance to try momofuku milk bar's famous cereal milk soft serve(still feel sentimental about the fact that it was sold out).
So here it is. Soft Creme got me cover! It is a newly open soft serve shop in Tai Hung. There are two base for the soft serve - Hokkaido Milk and the unusual Cereal Milk! Other than a cereal they offer bacon bites and caramel popcorn as well for the cereal milk base; for the hokkaido milk base they have honey comb, macaron and chocolate with himalayan salt(!) as topping.
Cereal milk w/ Caramelised cornflakes or Bacon bites ($38/42)
The caramelised cornflakes give it a great crunch and a sweet notes at the end of each mouthful. It is perfect for people with a seer tooth.
Whereas the bacon bites make a completely different flavourful combination with the creamy base. It is more on a chewy side which allows its saltiness to come through as you eat it with the sweet cereal milk soft serve.
Hokkaido milk w/ Australian Honeycomb ($42)
The chewiness from the honeycomb works well with the creamy ice cream. Imagine yourself eating a sweeten version of greek yoghurt+honey(Delish!). Personally I would like to have a stronger milk flavour for the soft serve itself. Overall it is just not as memorable as the one I had in Seoul, however it is definitely one of the best honeycomb soft serve in Hong Kong.
Hokkaido milk w/ Giaoduia chocolate and Himalayan Salt ($42)
A classic combination of chocolate and salt. I really love the hint of salt that you get, it simply lifts up the bitterness of the chocolate.
I wish I could try the Moët Champagne soft serve..
